While there are differences in the definitions of just-in-time learning, blended learning, distance learning, remote learning, digital learning, and virtual learning – whatever the term, @ virtual-teamwork.com, we focus on collaborative digital learning environments that are not limited to in-person interaction.
Experienced digital leaders are aware that in-person training is not usually the most effective way for adult learners in international, cross-cultural, virtual teams to experience new learning. Again, many of the success factors involved in creating engaging web meetings or web-based conferences are also applicable to any effective blended learning approach.
When we refer to blended learning, our focus is on higher-level, live-online, and collaborative learning. Although we frequently conduct learning impulse sessions to introduce a topic area, we typically design and implement programs that include stable learning groups who engage in topics over several sessions and continue work on asynchronous platforms between live sessions.
These adult learners often construct their own learning paths and preferences with their learning peers in an agile way. Typically our learners are international, so cross-cultural inclusiveness is integrated and fostered in every design. @ virtual-teamwork.com, we know that interaction is the key to success, so we design for full use of peer interaction and the interactive features that web-conferencing tools make available.
As certified online educators, we are convinced that real collaborative learning, augmented by live-online interaction, is the best way for adult professionals to learn. We are so convinced that virtual environments are best for learning about virtual topics that we uniformly ‘practice what we preach’ and execute all of our programs in purely virtual formats: if you want to learn about virtual leadership – let’s do it virtually!
